The same roof, before and after
The Challenge
Small roofs can be the fiddliest. This one is a half-round roof over a curved bay window, tucked in under the slope of the main tiled roof and worked from a scaffold. The front edge curves the whole way round, and the back edge is where it meets the tiles, so there is no simple straight run to work from.
Our Solution
Our photos from 5 October 2025 show a new OSB deck on the bay, the bottom of the tiled roof opened up behind it, and a black edge trim going on round the curve. Then grey Fatra single ply over the deck, following the curve out to the trim. At the back it is turned up where the bay meets the main roof, with the bottom row of tiles lapping over it.
The Outcome
Bare deck to finished roof in an afternoon. The finished photos, at 4.29 pm, show one smooth grey surface following the curve, a crisp black edge, and the tiles lapping over the membrane at the back.
